Day 368 – Friday 25th January
Went to the mainland today, Ranong, to be precise. This meant an early 7am wake up, and off on a boat at 8. When we got off the boat, we went straight to an internet café, having been craving it for ages now. Unfortunately, the place didn’t have wifi so I couldn’t use my laptop and instead just sat there writing my anniversary blog entry without being able to download any entertainment for the coming week without internet. I did get the blog written though which was a load off my mind, and I hope you all enjoyed the entry. After that, me, Marcus and Ter (the owner of the bungalow whose name I haven’t mentioned before) went to a supermarket and picked up loads of food to take back home, mainly chocolate. After stocking up on all our junk food we headed back to the port and got on a boat back to Ko Chang in the afternoon. When we got back, we stopped off at a couple of the other guest houses to say hello before going home and cooking myself some newly bought pesto pasta for dinner, unfortunately it wasn’t that good! At least all the chocolate I bought made up for it.
Day 369 – Saturday 26th January – Day 376 - Saturday 2nd February
Really settling in to the routine of this place, I wake up late then sit around listening to music or reading, have some food, play some volleyball and go to bed. The days are absolutely flying by and I really don’t feel like leaving anytime soon. On Saturday we went to a ‘party’ at the guest house next door, which ended up just being a barbeque with about 15 people split up into separate groups on the beach while a full moon hung above our heads. The spit roast pig was fucking good though, plus they gave it to us half price as we entertain them every day with our volleyball skills. After that not too much happened, need to give Jen a mention, she’s the saucy wife who cooks all my delicious meals whilst stealing a few glances of me as I stare at her all day! On Wednesday, a guy from the states who Marcus had met in Indo turned up with a couple from Estonia and Japan. The Yank is fucking annoying, doesn’t shut up and is just an all-round terrible person, and the couple are just really bizarre so they haven’t really added too much to the group.
Now I’m here in Ranong on another quick internet/food trip, Marcus is off today as well so I came to say goodbye. We’ve fallen out a bit since we got to Koh Chang, but we had some good times in Indo and I feel really bad that he’s going all the way home to Finland, it’s going to be fucking cold. I think I’m going to stay in Koh Chang a bit longer, probably until I get bored I guess, if you like a place why move?
