Day 377 – Sunday 3rd February – Day 384 – Sunday 10th February
Much the same as usual guys. I’ve spent another week here in Koh Chang taking it easy, and after 4 weeks here, I’m still in no rush to leave! I’m currently here in Ranong having just got back from Burma where I spent the morning doing a visa run, meaning I now have an extra 15 days in Thailand, which I will most likely spend on Koh Chang. The main reasons for my staying are that I’m friends with the owner here meaning I have an in to all the proceedings on the island, plus a really cool guy as a friend. On top of this I’ve been travelling so long now that I just feel like taking it easy for a little while and having a serious think about where to go next and how much longer I want to stay out and if I want to start working soon. As you can see I have a very stressful life and am in much need of a little (a lot) R&R. After Marcus left last Sunday, we did a bit of shopping in Ranong, spent some time on the internet and then headed back home, where we played volleyball. Not only did Marcus leave but another volleyball legend, Willy, left on Monday so for a few days we had no volleyball, I really missed my daily workout. Luckily we did have a young, hot, Spanish girl turn up who is not single, boo. Still it’s been cool to have some female company for seemingly the first time in ages, not only her but this week has been a bit of a minge fest (sorry for that!) and we’ve had loads of really nice women/mothers come in and out all week. I mention the word ‘mothers’ as it becomes pretty apparent within about 5 minutes if a woman has kids, you’re all the bloody same! As per usual when I’m not off exploring the island (once) then I’m sitting outside my bungalow reading or listening to music. When we did see the rest of the island though it was a nice time, we had a long boat ride and a nice walk around and stuff, all very exciting. Plus on the way back I had one of those ‘how amazing is my life’ moments, when we were watching the sunset drop behind the Burmese mountains as we took a leisurely boat ride back home. I have sat down to think a bit about where to go next, but when you’re perfectly happy with what you’ve got it becomes hard to start thinking about other potential countries to visit, but I am looking into the Philippines more and more. Most people go to Laos or Cambodia, which I’m sure are fine but I really feel like getting a bit off the beat and track after Thailand. I think that’s everything that has happened this week, hope everyone is having a nice time back in England.
